First of Omen's progeny out in public
Aurora Mystique (Crabbet x warmblood x TB)
Our first Silver Omen progeny to come out in public under saddle - Aurora Mystique - attended the local Pony Club last Tuesday night with my granddaughter, Kimberley. She walked and trotted around very sensibly until it was time for Kimberley to ride her usual pony, Sunny Brae Rose Maree, and have lessons.
Mystique’s next outing was on Sunday when we took her to the Mt Linton Endurance ride at Wendon. After an overnight camp out, once again Mystique performed without a hassle and completed the 25km ride in 2 hours and 49 minutes.
The ride began slowly as there was some road work, then it was into the hills, so we took it slowly to accustom her to the terrain. There were some small creeks which she negotiated with ease, jumping some of them, too.
The last part of the ride was road verges and flat going so time was made up there. Both Mystique and Woodlau’s Merlin did the ride barefoot and vetted in sound with good heart rates.
We were very pleased with Mystique’s performance for a first time out.
